Hi-Tech Security Solutions launches Webinar series with VideoIQ

February 2010 News & Events

Hi-Tech Security Solutions is launching a new Web-based service to keep readers informed of the latest news and moves in the security industry. Instead of holding presentations at a single location to highlight new technologies and solutions, Hi-Tech Security Solutions’ new Webinar series will offer interactive presentations over the Internet.

Anyone interested in viewing the presentations can simply register online and log in on the appropriate day and experience the presentation from the comfort of their office or home – all you need is a decent Internet connection (such as broadband or corporate leased line). There will be no need to experience frustrating traffic hold-ups to attend these presentations.

Viewers will be able to view the presentation while the presenter talks them through it, even downloading the presentation for later review. Questions can be asked in realtime and the presenter or facilitator will answer it as would happen in a traditional presentation.

“Throughout the course of this year, Hi-Tech Security Solutions will use Webinars as a way to deliver new content to our readers in a manner that is pertinent, educational, targeted, concise and relevant to the South and southern African markets,” explains Andrew Seldon, editor of Hi-Tech Security Solutions. “Marketers will be able to communicate directly with their target audiences and disseminate information in a more interactive and personal manner than ever before.”

Should someone register, but miss the presentation, it will be archived for viewing at their convenience. When viewing the archive, however, users will lose the interactivity and will not be able to ask questions.

Intelligent video surveillance in action

In the first Webinar, Hi-Tech Security Solutions will collaborate with VideoIQ as it talks attendees through its intelligent video solutions which combine advanced video analytics and digital recording capabilities into a single IP camera. It will take place on 23 March 2010 at 1600 CAT.

The presentation will incorporate an introduction to VideoIQ South Africa and the reason this technology meets the needs of the local bandwidth-restricted market so well. A local user who has selected VideoIQ equipment for an exciting campus project will offer his insights into the technology, and an in-depth overview of the technology and its applicability will be offered from the VideoIQ head office in the USA. The presentations will take 30 minutes with 15 minutes left over for questions and discussion, during which time a South African VideoIQ systems integrator will also be available to assist attendees with their queries.

Says Andrew Page Wood, head of VideoIQ’s South African office, “Today’s smart new intelligent video surveillance solutions are revolutionising the ways in which organisations protect themselves against security threats. With advanced video analytics and digital recording capabilities combined into a single IP camera, these next-generation systems use intelligence to not only detect and warn of threats, but store video only when needed, dramatically reducing bandwidth requirements. This sort of technology is highly relevant for South African security challenges.”

Page Wood will be joined from the USA by Doug Marman, CTO of VideoIQ to discuss how intelligent video surveillance is being used by organisations of all kinds with tremendous effect. “We will take a close look at real-world implementations across various organisations and look at how the VideoIQ concept has proved a success in South African conditions.”

Register today to hear how your organisation can leverage smart, automated protection to maximise security and improve your bottom line. It is on 23 March 2010 at 1600. Simply surf over to www.videoiq.com/livewebinar and click on the registration button.
