Hikvision supports QNAP

Hikvision has announced that its network cameras are now fully supported by QNAP VioStor Series network video recorders (NVRs). Users worldwide will now benefit from the performance and quality of Hikvision’s network cameras combined with PC-less NVR solutions from QNAP Security.

Said Tony Yang, international marketing director of Hikvision, “This partnership with QNAP will allow more customers to enjoy the video quality from Hikvision’s network cameras and the ease of operation of QNAP’s NVR products.”

The combination of QNAP and Hikvision is good news for users who want a full-featured security solution. Hikvision’s network cameras provide video powered by the Texas Instruments’ DaVinci platform. H.264/MPEG-4 dual-stream, realtime video is supported, as are SDHC cards for local storage when the Internet is unavailable. QNAP’s VioStor Series NVRs offer features including intelligent video analytics (IVA), generic IP camera integration by CGI command, digital watermarking, SMS alerts, multiserver monitoring and many other professional surveillance features.

“This is a great technical synergy between QNAP and Hikvision,” said Andrew Yu, the product manager of QNAP Security. “As a standalone NVR provider, we constantly expand our NVR compatibility for global brand network cameras. Hikvision has three decades of experience in research and development of video technology. We are pleased to announce the grand partnership with Hikvision in order to offer the users more choices to set up their surveillance systems.”
