Video detection and recording from Siemens Building Technologies

November 2008 Surveillance

The numbers of hybrid applications using existing analogue cameras, with the capability to expand the system adding IP cameras, with recording for both is growing all the time. Siemens has therefore enhanced the Sistore MX hybrid recording system with new features and functionalities at no extra cost to the customer to upgrade.

The latest Version 2.70 offers features for both the firmware of the hybrid recorder as well as the software for remote access: RemoteView and WebView (included as standard with the system). To enable customers to get the best usage from their networks, dual encoding is now supported with two compression formats: MJPEG, which is suited for recording individual images, and MPEG4 for fast and efficient network transmission. New features such as audio transmission for RemoteView and optimised alarm handling with a list of alarms and alarm images facilitate more flexible and secure monitoring.

Furthermore, virtual alarm contacts for Siemens IP cameras are available for remote monitoring.

With the continual market development of megapixel cameras, Sistore MX now records and displays megapixel IP cameras in both live and playback mode. Also, the list of supported IP cameras has grown with this new software version, all Siemens models also being compatible.

To enable customers to best view their sites, support for two monitors showing dual video image displays with site map function is also supported. This function can be performed both locally or remotely via the included RemoteView (for use on a PC) or WebView (via Internet Explorer or Firefox) software – Windows Vista is also supported.
