Video analytics for Porsche

Porsche secured with video analytics

Porsche has implemented ioimage intelligent video analytics to secure the 650-metre perimeter of its showroom in Sunninghill, Gauteng. The intelligent video analytics system has been deployed to secure approximately 100 cars with an average value of R1,2 million per car.

The accurate detection of intruders without the frustration of unnecessary false alarms was important to Porsche. As changes in the environment and weather conditions often cause false alarms, Porsche needed a technology that would accurately detect breaches of security, eliminate false alarms and allow its guards to view the location of the breach. It also required a flexible IP solution, but with the stability of an embedded DSP. ioimage intelligent video analytics was the solution of choice.

C3 Shared Services and Goodman Security Technologies installed 16 channels of ioimage intelligent video on site. Goodman is an internationally trained C3 applied partner for ioimage in South Africa. The intelligent video was implemented in conjunction with the CCTV system and interfaced with the existing analogue cameras and matrix switcher. Porsche’s perimeter is now secured with automated surveillance and intruder tracking with immediate notification and instant visual verification on any security breaches.

Gary Delport from Goodman Security Technologies says, “In our experience with perimeter detection, the ioimage video analytics system has met all our expectations. The reliability, ease of use and simplicity of implementation has made this an effective and efficient solution.”

The ioimage intelligent video system has been recommended to Porsche SA for implementation at its new dealerships in KwaZulu-Natal and Cape Town.
