SACO yields good results

March/April 2001 News & Events

SACO Systems, part of the listed Reunert Group, recently announced that it enjoyed substantial growth in the year 2000. SACO, a dominant player in the South African electronics and electrical engineering field, contributed significantly to the Reneurts Group overall performance last year. The Group's annual report reflects that revenue on a comparative basis grew by 20%, while operating profit improved by 30%.

With over 25 years of experience SACO Systems focuses on providing computerised access, time and attendance control systems, alarm monitoring and supply chain management solutions. The company has made inroads in the UK market especially in asset and distribution management. Products include SACO Access, SACO Time, SACO Monitor, SACO Track and the SACO Enterprise Edition.

The Enterprise edition is the latest edition to the SACO range and offers a fully integrated Resource Management System that is modular and flexible, allowing one to configure the system to the present and future needs of a company. The system's comprehensive and flexible architecture integrates the control of a company's security, including alarm systems and CCTV surveillance, with the management of time and attendance and the tracking of company assets. Other functions such as fuel management and cafeteria management have also been included.

At present SACO Systems has more than 300 operating sites in South Africa, controlling from 10 employees up to more than 100 000. These include large clients like Richards Bay Minerals, Samancor, Sasol, South African Airways and Highveld Steel. The company's partners include Microsoft, Oracle, Delphi and Philips International. SACO products are distributed by SACO Systems (HQ), Midrand; SACO Rustenberg; SACO Klerksdorp; GBC Systems, Durban; and SACO Richards Bay.
