nCipher appoints distributor

September 2008 News & Events

nCipher has appointed Networks Unlimited as distributor for sub-Saharan Africa, as part of its commitment to support existing customers and further expand business in the region.

The announcement is in response to accelerating demand for cryptography in sub-Saharan Africa, to protect sensitive data and meet the growing number of privacy-driven regulations. nCipher offers enterprise-wide solutions for identity management, data protection, key management and cryptographic hardware to secure data in transit and at rest.

“nCipher has already established a strong market presence in sub-Saharan Africa with customers such as ABSA, Standard Bank, De Beers and several SA Government departments,” said Daniel Mothersdale, EVP international sales for nCipher. “Networks Unlimited is the ideal partner to help us build on this success and take advantage of the business opportunities in the region.”

Both Networks Unlimited and nCipher are investing in marketing, sales, support and maintenance. Networks Unlimited already has three nCipher highly-skilled certified engineers and eight nCipher trained business managers.

“nCipher has a global reputation in encryption and key management solutions and this is a great opportunity for us to work together to support security-conscious businesses and public sector organisations across sub-Saharan Africa,” says Craig Copeland, managing director at Networks Unlimited. “For our reseller partners, this announcement offers exciting new revenue and profit opportunities backed by impressive benefits and channel support programs.”
