Hikvision in SA

CCTV equipment supplier Hikvision was founded in 2001. At the very beginning, the founders came from a Chinese National Institution, which specialised in the video and audio compression field. Hikvision has over 1000 employees, including 300 engineers. According to A&S International Magazine in 2007, Hikvision ranked 21st in the security industry by total revenue, and ranked first in revenue growth.

Hikvision's view is that as an emerging country, South Africa has made great achievements during the past few years. However, due to the increasing crime levels, security has become increasingly important. Moreover, South Africa has become the 2010 FIFA World Cup host, and as a result, creating a safe social environment is a must for the government. Hikvision entered the South African market three years ago and sees 2008 as a turning point for its marketing here. Hikvision has selected several reputable local partners to serve the market. For the South African market, Hikvision's mission is to grow with its local partners - among them Regal Security and Pinnacle - and provide stable and qualified products to all its clients to improve their security conditions.
