Security for the sport of kings

May 2008 Surveillance

Vigilant has provided a future-proof IP video surveillance solution for a new gaming hall at Gulfstream Park Casino in Florida, USA.

The system, which has an unlimited expansion capability currently 'watches over' several hundreds of slot machines.

Gulfstream Park is built on horse racing property. It is a member of Magna Entertainment Corp., North America's leading owner and operator of horse racetracks and one of the world's leading suppliers, via simulcasting of live racing content to the growing inter-track, off-track and account wagering markets. Recently gaming, as well as dining and music, have become major factors in Gulfstream's continued growing success.

The challenge

Vigilant was asked to specify a CCTV solution that can keep up with the current demands as well as the planned property expansions of the hotel, retail and entertainment complexes. The specifications required providing the ability to record several hundreds of channels, at 4CIF/30 FPS, and at least 30 days of storage around the clock - all in an analogue/IP hybrid environment. In addition, the customer specified an evidence vault to store special events in external storage, and realtime streaming over the IP infrastructure.

The solution

The winning solution includes Vigilant IP surveillance system (NetStream and NetStore) combined with the robust DVR system (Elite series) to provide the required hybrid environment. The fact that Vigilant was able to meet the specifications with its proprietary single source end-to-end solution and offer outstanding price performance, ensured the project.

Working with system integrators IEP of Arizona, Vigilant has supplied Gulfstream Park Casino with a totally new and comprehensive system and provided full training of personnel to ensure the customer achieves maximum benefit from the system.
