Next generation digital multiplexer from market leaders

September 99 Surveillance

CCTV control specialist Dedicated Micros recently previewed its brand new Digital Sprite at IFSEC '99. As pioneers of the Unicord at the show in 1995, DM has built upon its experience of advanced digital image recording technology with the first, second generation digital video control system on the market.

Following closely on the heels of its most recent product release, Digital Sprite combines the advanced feature specification and user friendliness of the new System Sprite range with purpose built digital recording capabilitiesto set a new benchmark for the surveillance industry.

The new digital product integrates a large hard disk storage capacity with full duplex, continuous multiplex recording and viewing. As well as providing sharp jitter-free CCTV images, its loaded specification combines true system integration capabilities with full SCSI event archiving to JAZ and ZIP drives.

Digital Sprite also incorporates a quick and easy search and review facility so that images can be located using VCR style frame advance and rewind and fast picture search keys. This is combined with an event log that displays the last 20 events alongside a cameo display of the currently selected event.

Flexible recording options also allow users to prioritise recording of the most important cameras therefore maximising the available storage capacity. A variety of the user friendly scheduling options include:

p Individual day, night and weekend settings.

p Individual record rates for standard recording, activity detection and alarms.

p Activation on timer, manually or via an alarm panel.

Digital Sprite includes c-bus RS485 system capabilities which allow the integration of multiple keyboards, multiplexers and monitor switches. The system controller keyboard with built-in joystick provides direct control of a range of coaxial and DTMF recceivers as well as market-leading high speed domes.

John Humphrey, Group Director of Dedicated Micros said: As pioneers of one of the industry's first digital multiplex recorders, we feel that Digital Sprite will be the first product to truly realise the potential of digital CCTV.

"With its fast, automated installation and a combination of features not previously seen in our marketplace, we are certain that it will prove extremely popular amongst professional installers and end-users alike."
