New Wiegand readers

October 2007 Asset Management

A new range of 125 kHz Wiegand Multi-Mode remotes has been developed by Impro Technologies. The drive for the development came from a market demand to consolidate the existing ImproX 26 bit and 44 bit Wiegand readers into a single product offering. A simple system configuration procedure allows the user the option to set the readers to either 26 bit or 44 bit on power up.

In addition, the Wiegand readers can operate as either IXP compatible readers or OEM readers compatible with selected third party access control systems. The Wiegand Remotes can be installed up to 150 metres from the ImproX Twin Remote Terminal (TRT) and the readers can be powered by either 5 V d.c. or 12 V d.c. to aid in simplifying the installation process.

Most importantly however is the fact that the Wiegand readers offer an upgrade path from the early Link Scan systems as they are able to read the Impro 125 kHz Standard Tags. These flexible Wiegand readers are to be released shortly and will certainly add to Impro Technologies' diverse product offering.
