BSIA training

August 2007 News & Events

Welcome UK! offers a comprehensive Visa service to South Africans going to the UK and one of the most popular opportunities for young South Africans in the UK is security work. The company will be hosting British Security Industry Authority (BSIA) Training programme, to be presented in South Africa for the first time, to South Africans between the ages of 17-30, who want to work in the UK. The first course is being planned for August 2007.

The advantage of doing this training in South Africa is that people do not waste time and money in the UK doing the course and waiting for the results and your certificate. Now they can apply for visas and police clearance and do the course in SA so that they can get to work as soon as they arrive in the UK.

The SIA recognises that it is essential for all personnel involved in the security industry to have undergone a structured programme of training and education resulting in recognised qualifications if they are to be effective and professional in their role.

The aim of new training and qualifications is to increase the skills and professionalism of those employed in the industry and to raise standards of performance.

One of the main duties of the SIA is the compulsory licensing of individuals working in specific sectors of the private security industry.
