Stock losses can take many forms. The losses can be caused by wastage in the production process, administration mistakes, raw material being signed for but not received and raw material and finished product being removed from the manufacturing facility illegally.

By scanning a person in less than 10 s the operator is able to ascertain if there are any illegal items on the person. The DRS SecureScan does not reveal any body surface details and this preserves the privacy and dignity of the person being scanned. The effective X-ray dosage used in each scan is less than 2 μSv and thus the risk to the people being scanned is very low while the benefit to the manufacturing facility is great in that they have now closed a ‘loop-hole’.
