Beta Bastion now Betafence

Beta Bastion is now operating as Betafence South Africa, marking the completion of the company's full incorporation into the global Betafence Group.

This latest move falls under an aggressive growth plan - to double turnover by the end of 2008 - which was announced by the Cape-based company in November last year. The group continues to invest in technology and innovation and this expansion plan is supported by a R40-million investment, the introduction of next generation products and the launch last year of a sophisticated security.

Betafence has 12 manufacturing plants, 25 offices and representation in 90 countries around the world.

Supa-Vu in KZN

The competitively-priced CCTV specialist, Supa-Vu, has opened doors in Durban in a bid to bring affordable yet easy-to-install security products to the KwaZulu-Natal market.

The original Supa-Vu, the brainchild of, and wholly owned by, Norbain South Africa, is based in Wynberg, Sandton. This convenient outlet offers the full spectrum of low-budget security products ranging from CCTV systems to electric fencing, gate motors, garage door automation, alarms and intercom systems. Other Supa-Vu stores opened in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth last year.

Philips appoint second distributor

Philips Electronics, in agreement with current distributor Drive Control, has appointed Storgate as an additional distributor.

Storgate will be adding a full range of Philips branded flat panel monitors to its portfolio, following an agreement signed recently. Tyrone Young, sales and marketing manager for Philips Electronics display monitors, says that “after having grown dramatically in the LCD monitor space, Philips has taken the opportunity to appoint Storgate, in agreement with Drive Control, to expand the distribution reach. We feel that by appointing a second distributor to operate, in conjunction with Drive Control, we will improve the offering to the market and ensure that Philips continues on the growth path currently being enjoyed.”
