The Security SGB (Standards Generating Board) has signed off the following qualification:
FETC (Further Education and Training Certificate) in Electronic Security Installation Practices (NQF Level 4).
This qualification will now go to SAQA for public comment and thereafter registration.
The qualification consists of the following core unit standards:
* Apply cabling methods.
* Install electronic equipment.
* Determine installation requirements.
* Configure an installation.
* Determine and rectify faults in an installation.
* Assess the threat to conduct an electronic security installation.
The SGB Task team that developed the qualification was under the leadership of Neil Gillespie.
