Enhanced security from RCG

June 2007 Access Control & Identity Management

Founded in 1999, Chinese fingerprint and facial recognition systems company, RC Group, develops, produces and distributes state-of-the-art biometrics and RFID software through hardware and system integration.

The company was listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange in July 2004.

Prominent in the Asia Pacific region, RCG is now on an aggressive expansion drive into different parts of the world with its all-in-one biometrics and RFID applications. This plan was realised in South Africa on 1 January this year, where RC Group Holdings now operates as RCG Systems SA.

The Group has a growth strategy with a clear focus on developing new applications and revenue streams for global rollout, particularly in the security applications industry.

RCG adopts a holistic approach to provide security solutions that meet different vertical industry needs, uniquely combining biometric and RFID technologies to offer solutions that further enhance security and increase convenience to both enterprise and end-users.

Why RCG in SA?

"Security is a growing market, but we saw a need for security suppliers to be turnkey outfits providing complete system integration solutions rather than just selling the product," explains RCG Systems SA operations manager, Mike Cox. "We looked at RCG's financials and realised it is a huge company with a proven track record, that offers well-made, quality products.

"A South African stock exchange-listed company was used as a test site and the RCG solution controls 600 people a day - and it does it well."

RCG solutions can be applied to a number of vertical industries such as gaming, mining, aviation, healthcare, logistics and real estate; RCG products are innovative in design and provide flexible multifactor authentication to further enhance security. Understanding each customer has different security needs, the company offers tailor-made solutions to its customers.

The company's flagship product is the facial recognition access control system Fx Guard Pro.

"RCG Systems SA is actively looking for master distributors and system integrators," Cox says, adding that ADI has already been appointed a master distributor and discussions are taking place with other potential master distributors.
