New high-resolution colour camera

May 2007 Surveillance, Products & Solutions

The new CCTV camera with integrated Pixim chipset technology offers excellent image quality and colour rendition that is ideal for day and night surveillance applications.

Pixim Incorporated's patented digital pixel system (DPS) technology is integrated into the new 1/3" CMOS ultra wide dynamic colour surveillance camera from Siemens.

Enabled by Pixim's DPS technology, Siemens' CCWC1345 is a 500 TVL high-resolution colour camera that provides crisp, aperture corrected images for surveillance applications requiring detailed images even under extreme difficult illumination conditions. The DPS image sensor converts light to a digital signal at each pixel, enabling each pixel to have independent, optimised exposure times to deliver the highest image quality and colour accuracy.

Key Pixim chipset features that benefit Siemens' new security camera include wide dynamic range (120 dB), NTSC/PAL dual video standards, universal twisted pair (UTP) video out and two power input models. Siemens' CCWC1345 is ideal for applications such as traffic monitoring, incident detection and other surveillance activities in varying lighting conditions.

Besides the conventional BNC video output, the integrated UTP video output enables the transmission of the video signal via simple twisted pair cabling such as telephone cable over a distance of up to 1200 m using a twisted pair receiver unit such as TP-RXMO02 or equivalent. The UTP video output is ideal for installations requiring long distance cabling, such as tunnel surveillance.

Siemens' CCWC1345 offers ease of use with a convenient remote set-up via serial port and is the first Pixim Orca Chipset enabled camera to take advantage of the dual power supply capability. The CCWC 1345-LX can accept both 12 V d.c. and 24 V a.c. power supplies, while the CCWC1345-MX can plug directly into a 120 or 240 V a.c. power main.
