Power Corporate Consultants (PCC) and Associates, an accredited SASSETA Training Provider, in conjunction with Maxi Security, hosted a two-day workshop for the Kenyan Ministry of Labour's Directorate of Industrial Training on 5 and 6 March at its training facility in Johannesburg. The two representatives from Kenya were Francis Gitaka, the deputy director and Alex Mwaura, the assistant director.
The visit was arranged and coordinated by the Maxi Security director in Kenya, John McTough.
Terry Scallan, the director of security training, education and development at PCC and Associates, facilitated the workshop, which focused on skills development training of security officers.
Naledi Nkula, the head of the SASSETA Education and Training Quality Assurance Department spoke about the role of SASSETA regarding the training of security officers as well as the quality assurance of training and training providers.
Errol Peace of the South African Institute of Security discussed the role of the Institute in security training.
Bob Power, a director of PCC and Associates, spoke to the visitors on a regulatory security authority.
