The Universal Biometric Interface (UBI) is an embedded device that enables most existing hardware products to be operated with inexpensive, high quality, accurate biometric technology. This product can provide solutions in diverse applications from unlocking doors and safes up to switching on and off of sophisticated medical equipment by authorised users only. It provides quick and user-friendly alternatives to passwords, PIN number and tags and can accommodate up to 50 different users on a standalone basis with no computer interface needed to manage the system. Authentication of fingerprints takes place in less than a second and is supported by a state-of-the-art sub dermal scanner. The UBI system can be modified, customised and made to order for a wide range of applications.
