R&D Screening Technologies introduce leading edge security X-ray technology - Hi Trax

September 99 News & Events, Government and Parastatal (Industry)

R&D Screening Technologies, in conjunction with Heimann Germany (a world leader in X-ray technology for more than 50 years), has launched the new range of Hi Trax security X-ray systems. The range boasts years of research into operator ergonomics, automatic detection of suspicious items and picture clarity.

A demonstration function was held recently at R&D Screening Technologies' Johannesburg premises, with guest speaker Hans Schwaush from Germany providing informative insight. Included amongst the guestlist were the Presidential Protective Unit, Airforce, Navy, Police drug and explosives squad and many other security orientated organisations and consultants. According to a company spokesman, "The system surpassed everyone's expectations in it's performance as a whole and in it's ability to automatically detect the suspicious samples supplied by the drug and bomb squad."

"The first Hi Trax system has been sold and commissioned at Waterkloof Airforce Base (WAB) in Pretoria, used by Government VIP's," he added. Schwaush also conducted a "skilled operators training course for the WAB operators."

The Hi Trax range covers all areas of security X-ray screening from small articles to cargo pallets.
