HID announces ISO 9001 certification

September 99 News & Events

Upon completion of an extensive systems evaluation, HID Corporation has announced that it has successfully completed the final stage of ISO 9001 certification.

The comprehensive system audits cover every aspect of operations at HID headquarters in Irvine, along with the Wiegand operations in Connecticut and the R&D facility in Denver. All three are included in the certification sanctioned by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and its European counterpart, the Registrars Accreditation Board (RAB).

"As any company that has been through the process knows, achieving ISO 9001 certification is demanding," said Don Nelson, President of HID Corporation. "Each individual and operation must be dedicated to the pursuit of quality. By scrutinising our organisation at every level, we assure our customers that we are committed to providing them with superior customer service and the highest quality products."

Since its origin in 1991, HID has been recognised as a pioneer in the development of radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology. As a result, HID has continuously provided advanced technology products and has become the industry leader for access control and asset tracking applications.

"ISO 9001 certification complements our technology leadership position," continued Nelson. "While improving our existing products and finding new applications for RFID technology remains our emphasis, we want to ensure that every product meets and exceeds our customers' expectations. ISO 9001 certification assures every person who buys, sells and uses HID products that they have made the best possible security investment."

ISO 9001 certification not only attests to HID's commitment to continuous improvement, but also provides its OEM partners with significant competitive benefits selling into the global marketplace. According to Dunn & Bradstreet, 72,3% of corporations with ISO certification report a major competitive advantage and 33,4% reported improved customer demand.
