Intelligence led CCTV surveillance course

August 2006 News & Events

Dr Craig Donald and an Australian specialist in intelligence, Jeff Corkill, will be presenting courses on Intelligence Led CCTV Surveillance in South Africa on 13-15 and 18-20 September. This follows on the presentation of the course in Australia, which included delegates from Australian Customs, Rio Tinto, the Office of the Premier of Western Australia, Australian Military and city centres, among others.

The course to be held in Johannesburg will provide participants with the skills to use CCTV operations to generate valuable intelligence to support security and investigative operations. It will also address the knowledge and skills required to integrate intelligence products into the planning and conduct of surveillance operations. Participants will come away with an enhanced knowledge and understanding of body language, relationships, contact and communication dynamics. Also, participants will get exposure to enhanced targeting and behavioural profiling tools. Aimed at managers, supervisors and specialists, the course is essential training for those who want to effectively leverage the benefits of the CCTV system and to direct surveillance efficiently to get bottom line results.

Dr Donald notes that this is a unique situation where the skills of Australians and South Africans can be combined to provide a world-beating product. He notes that these two countries have a lot of respect for each other and work extremely well together when not rivals on the sports field.
