High quality surveillance, in full colour

June 2006 Surveillance

The Panasonic WV-CW960 Super Dynamic III Weatherproof Colour Dome Camera delivers excellent image quality while incorporating extraordinarily intelligent operation. A high-performance surveillance camera that captures the contrast, detail and colour of the reality it sees for accurate identification purposes, yet can withstand exposure to the elements in outdoor applications.

The WV-CW960's distinguishing features include:

IP66-approved, rain-resistant, all weather housing with a built-in fan/heater and a sun shield; 360° horizontal panning at 400°/second plus 190° tilt capability (or superfine pan control at 0,065°/second); 30x optical zoom plus 10x digital zoom (total 300x); Auto tracking (the camera intuitively follows the largest movement in the image, automatically keeping the moving object in the centre of the image); auto focus as well as automatic switching to black-and-white mode for night surveillance; scene change detection (any interference with the image automatically generates an alarm signal); a powerful, pixel-based 128x dynamic range, complemented by 540-line horizontal resolution, for recording fine details in any situation; digital motion detector and digital-FLIP for automatic 180° turn; privacy zone masking; and patrol learning capabilities.

Also new from Panasonic is the Panasonic WV-CZ352 Compact Colour Surveillance Camera, which has a 22x optical zoom lens, expandable to 220x thanks to a built-in 10x electronic zoom. Despite its compact dimensions, the WV-CZ352 is highly sensitive: it captures images in lighting as low as 0,03 lux in black-and-white mode (pixel sensitivity up x2 setting) and 1 lux in colour mode. A 1/4-type CCD pick-up element with 752(H) x 582(V) pixels delivers 510 TV lines horizontal resolution in colour mode (570 TV lines in black-and-white mode), while 32x linear electronic sensitivity enhancement captures remarkable detail.

The WV-CZ352 also offers automatic or manual day/night switching; auto focus lens; privacy zone masking (four zones maximum); a built-in motion detector with alarm output; and up to 64 preset lens positions. An image-hold function, together with digital noise reduction technology, minimises blurring and image streaking due to movement of the subject. There is also a password-lock function for user management protection, plus built-in mirror and upside-down functions for special imaging needs.

Connecting the WV-CZ352 is easy, too: choose from multiplex-coaxial cable or RS-485 data communication. Moreover, the WV-CZ352 has vertical drive (VD2) synchronisation capability (internal or multiplexed) with other Panasonic CCVE components.
