DIY observation kits

June 2006 Surveillance

Pinnacle CCTV has a range of LG DIY Observation Kits and DIY Kit accessories available to the local market.

"Despite their operating sophistication, the kits are extremely simple to install," says Stephen Hammond, national sales manager of Pinnacle CCTV.

"Essentially, they are plug-and-play systems which only require the cameras to be positioned and the cables connected." Additional cameras are easily incorporated into the systems, which could also be adapted to record, simply by connecting them to a VCR (video cassette recorder) or domestic DVD recorder. In addition to meeting the average home owner's security needs, the systems could also be utilised for parents' peace of mind if the motion sensitive cameras are installed near swimming pools or other potentially dangerous areas, he adds.

The LSP-M1017 17-inch colour monitor kit features a flat-screen monitor with built-in quad processor; two weather resistant as well as one motion-sensing camera; a dual quad processor that is suitable for up to eight cameras (four at a time); selectable picture-in-picture viewing option; 2-way audio through the monitor and cameras; and alarm input on the cameras and output on the monitor. The system can automatically rotate between eight full-screen camera locations.

The black and white version (LSP-M1012) comes with a 12-inch monitor, one of each of the cameras featured in the colour system; 2-way audio through monitor and cameras and the motion-sensing camera integrates with existing security systems. The system can rotate between four full-screen locations or show all four at once.

The LSP-Q103 is a dual colour quad kit that works with any television or monitor that accepts RCA connection and the features are the same as those of the LSP-M1017.

Accessories for the kits include a motion-sensing camera, weather-resistant camera, X16 zoom colour camera, time lapse VCR and a mini dome camera.
