Optelecom-NKF appoints Letlhaka Technologies

April 2006 News & Events

Optelecom-NKF, a global manufacturer of network video equipment, including fibre-optic systems, video servers, network video recorders, video management software and Ethernet switches, has appointed Letlhaka Technologies as sole partner to promote, supply and give first line support for its products in the South African market. Although NKF products had been successfully and reliably deployed in South Africa for a number of years, customers had to rely on importers that carried no stock and often had to look for technical support abroad.

"From the first contacts between Optelecom-NKF and Letlhaka Technologies we worked to a mutual beneficial situation for the South African market, based upon the in-depth market knowledge of Letlhaka Technologies and our broad product portfolio," says Pieter Franke, Optelecom-NKF's area manager for Africa.

"The partnership between Optelecom-NKF and Letlhaka Technologies will ensure local support, high stock availability and a new competitive pricing structure on the entire NKF product range," says Corne van der Merwe, managing director of Letlhaka Technologies. "NKF is well known to be a manufacturer of highly reliable, innovative products".

Optelecom-NKF recently unveiled a series of new products including the very small Pico range of optical video transmission equipment, small enough to plug directly onto a camera while still delivering superior video quality. Letlhaka Technologies and Optelecom-NKF will be showcasing the latest NKF product range at the Securex exhibition in June this year.
