Harmonic Group has announced the release of a new rugged handheld computer, opening the door to challenging transportation applications as well as to severe field-force automation projects.
The Kyman-Net mobile computer from Datalogic enlarges Harmonic's mobile@work family of palm and pistol grip mobile computers and vehicle mount terminals, all with either DOS or Windows CE operating system.
The product's versatile data capture and communication features allows it to address applications that include the transportation industry such as parcel pick-up and delivery and automation projects such as route accounting or meter reading.
It can also be successfully used for typical data collection operations in warehouse management, such as inventory, picking, shipping and receiving.
The sturdy outer casing with over mould protection has been designed to resist harsh environments, multiple drops from 1,5 m and shocks as well as sub-zero temperatures. It is equipped with powerful long-lasting Li-ION batteries and a large, bright colour display with touch screen and antiglare/anti-scratch protection.
