Lightning protection

March 2006 Infrastructure

Lightning and mains surges can play havoc with most electronics systems but when it comes to surveillance, other electronic protection and intruder systems the consequences can be costly and often detrimental to business.

During a transient event the voltage potentials between power, data and video lines can rise several thousands of volts causing extensive damage and costly downtime to surveillance systems, not to mention the total lack of surveillance and security during a breakdown. To prevent damage, a common low impedance path around the sensitive components needs to be provided.

Clearline has a large range of protection devices to meet all requirements of surveillance and security equipment installations.

The key to Clearline's success in achieving this protection is the equi-potential platform, which not only provides protection for each of the connected lines but also a low impedance path to earth thus ensuring a safe diversion of transient currents even when only a poor earth is available.

All Clearline protection systems comply with ISO9001 manufacturing standards and carry a two year no nonsense warranty against failure for any reason, even lightning damage.
