Intelligent Visitor Card Collector

February 2006 Access Control & Identity Management

GSC Systems has released the 747-10 intelligent Visitor Card Collector. The unit incorporates a reader that is used to verify that the card collected is in fact the same card that was presented at the barrier. The Card Collector can be used with the ProxNet, KeyProx and ProxLock access control system, but can also be integrated into third party systems.

When a standard access card is presented to the ProxNet Proximity Reader, exit is granted provided the card meets all the normal access conditions.

If the card is a visitor card, the flap of the card collector opens and the visitor is prompted by a visual and sound signal to deposit the card into the card collector. Exit is granted provided the card matches the one presented at the reader. If the card does not match, the unit times out and access/exit is denied.
