Cameras for good measure

May 2005 Surveillance

AfriMeasure has released details of Pyser's comprehensive range of night vision and surveillance cameras ideally suited for the security industry. Probably the most popular unit is the handheld PNP Night Vision Monocular System, available in either Gen2 or Gen3 image intensifier versions.

The pocket scope is designed to be used either as a standalone night vision device or in a combination with a wide variety of standard video, still photo or CCTV equipment. The night scope is fully waterproof and is available with zoom lens options. This is ideally suited to convert night-time observation and intelligence gathering purposes using standard photographic media, as well as an effective aid to nighttime field missions.

Variations of the PNP are available including a weapon mounting capability where a number of rail and non-rail mounting options are available to suit the vast majority of current weapons.

For more stringent applications, Pyser's TIU2 thermal imaging surveillance camera is suitable for day/night detection. The unit is ready for installation, is CCTV system compatible, has various lens options and operates in the 7-14 micron band.

The TIU2 is particularly suitable for 24/7 perimeter surveillance of embassies, diplomatic residences and border surveillance. It can be mounted permanently in one position, or vehicle mounted, and it is also suitable for portable use.

The Danos Day and Night Observation System incorporates image fusion as standard and is designed to cater for all surveillance requirements in normal and extreme environmental conditions. Danos provides short, medium to long-range surveillance target acquisition using all three sensor technologies. It has the added benefit of incorporating image fusion, which provides variable integration of two or three different sensor technologies at the same time. The unit is remotely powered and supplied ready for use.
