Mifare OEM products manufactured in SA

April 2005 Access Control & Identity Management

GSC Systems is pleased to announce the release of a range of Mifare/smartcard products for system integrators. Typical applications for the new products are cashless vending machines; squash court access and lights control; meal voucher control; laundry machines; loyalty programmes; cashless payments; and access control.

The products released include:

714-60 Mifare ID reader

The 714 reader consists of a potted unit containing the electronics and antenna, a front cover, and an optional spacer plate. The reader will read the unique ID from a Mifare card and output the code in the following user selectable formats: Wiegand (44-bit, 34-bit, and 26-bit), Mag Stripe emulation, Clock/Data, RS232 (9600,n,8,1) EIA and TTL levels.

The unit allows for user control of the three LEDs and sounder. A 6-way DIP switch under the front cover is used to select the required output format and LED operational modes.

Card types supported are Mifare Std, Mifare Ultralight, Mifare DESFire.

716-10 single purse Mifare reader/writer

The 716-10 Single Purse Mifare Reader/Writer is an intelligent 13,56 MHz contactless reader writer designed to simplify the implementation of a secure cashless card system. The unit is based on using Philips Mifare card technology and complies to ISO 14443A. The reader consists of a potted unit containing the electronics and antenna, a front cover, and an optional spacer plate.

The Single Purse Mifare Reader/Writer can read and decrement a pre-programmed value stored on the card. All the encryption and backup needed to provide a secure and reliable transaction is handled automatically with a few simple commands. The user may restore the value from a backup after a failed transaction.

An RS232 interface is used to communicate between the unit and a PC or application hardware. Three independent LEDs and a beeper are available for user tasks.

The 716-10 uses one sector of the Mifare card and the remaining sectors are available for other applications. The default sector is 15 but a different sector may be requested at the time of ordering.

716-15 single purse Mifare card programmer

The 716-15 Single Purse Mifare Card Programmer will pre-load a value into a Mifare Standard card for use in an application that uses the 716-10 reader/writers. The card programmer comes complete with RS232 serial cable and Windows compatible PC software.

The software runs on Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP.
