Easy access for those who need it

February 2005 Security Services & Risk Management

Intelli-acc, Intelli-link and Intelli-star are three integrated electronic products that work together to effectively solve the age-old access problem facing reaction companies. Brought to you by Dynamicom Technologies, the patented technology incorporated in the three products provides a safe and effective solution allowing the reaction officer to get where he is needed, without compromising the client's security or that of the armed reaction company.

Intelli-star and Intelli-link form part of the reaction vehicle's equipment. Intelli-star is a chip-encrypted remote control transmitter unit, which is pre-programmed on a frequency code which is dedicated to the specific armed reaction company. This unit is robust and due to chip-encryption, the frequency code cannot be copied or changed, thus making it secure. This unit is attached to the keys of the reaction vehicle. Intelli-star has four buttons, one of which is a panic button for use by the reaction officer, should he need to call for back-up. Intelli-link is a repeater and is installed within the reaction vehicle. It has a built-in security feature which will render the unit inactive and useless should it be tampered with or removed from the vehicle.

The third unit, Intelli-acc, is a receiver unit and is installed in the client's premises. It works with any alarm control panel and radio transmitter. It is installed in the client's premises and connected to the alarm control panel, the alarm system's radio communicator as well as the client's access control system.

Upon activation of the alarm system, the Intelli-acc unit will become active. A time-window is opened allowing the reaction officer a certain time in which to arrive and access the premises. On arrival at the premises, the reaction officer uses the Intelli-star transmitter to open the client's gate. Intelli-star sends a signal via the Intelli-link unit installed in the vehicle to the Intelli-acc unit. Intelli-acc, through its connection to the client's access control system will then cause the electric gate or other relevant locking device to open.

The Intelli-star transmitter and Intelli-link repeater installed in the vehicle operate in tandem, thus enhancing the security of the system as both must be present in order to access the premises. The activity of the Intelli-star unit is transmitted to the monitoring centre via Intelli-acc, ie, time of arrival and access to the premises by the reaction officer, any panic/call for back-up signals, time of exit from the premises, confirmation of departure from the premises and de-activation of the system.
