Infrared day/night waterproof camera

November 2004 Surveillance

The E-537 is the latest generation of infrared day/night colour waterproof cameras. Suitable for indoor or outdoor applications, it is the ideal general purpose surveillance camera. Featuring 12 infrared LEDs and a day/night switching colour camera, the E-537 is supplied with a 3,6 mm board lens.

During the day, the unit provides accurate colour images. At night or in poor lighting conditions, the camera switches to monochrome and becomes IR sensitive. The night mode is activated by a light sensor which senses when the light drops below a certain level. In this mode, the infrared LEDs switch on and provide external light to illuminate the subject. Depending on surface colour and reflection, these LEDs have a range of approximately 7 to 10 metres in little or no light.

Power-wise, the E-537 cameras are able to operate in a wide range from 8~16 V d.c. They also feature reverse polarity protection which is the most common fault causing damage to surveillance cameras. Other features include auto white balance, an electronic shutter and of course automatic gain control.

Packaged in a rugged aluminium housing, the cameras are weatherproof and rate to IP66. After manufacture, these cameras are tested for 72 hours in 10 metres of water. A sunshield protects the camera against the effects of sun and harsh rain. Each E-537 is supplied with a terminated 1,5 m video/power cable and an adjustable mounting bracket.
