BoomGate's Traffic Barrier

November 2004 Access Control & Identity Management

BoomGate Systems has recently launched its new Traffic Barrier. The new barrier comes standard with a boom breakaway system. This ensures that the boom arm stays attached to the barrier and swings away from the roadway in the case of a vehicle crashing into the boom arm. The whole mechanism and rubber damping system has been upgraded. All these new features are standard with all models and BoomGate Systems now offers a two-year warranty on all new barriers.

Adding the new features makes the barrier more expensive than its rivals at the outset, but will save customers money in the long run and puts the company's barrier in a different category to its rivals.

BoomGate Systems will be taking its new barrier to London's Securex Exhibition and has already sold over 30 of these new type barrier in the UK over the past two months.

BoomGate Systems has also decided to upgrade its range of turnstiles to compete with the rest of the manufacturers in South Africa. New features include the anti rotor lock in 45°. This means that one can not be trapped in the turnstile at 45° and makes the turnstile completely user friendly. The new mechanism is virtually maintenance free, all the components are precision engineered and zinc plated for high corrosion resistance. No more base bearings that can fail like in lessor turnstiles. The turnstiles are 100% compatible with any access control system.

BoomGate Systems has supplied 72 turnstiles to an Ireland-based company and were installed in Gaelic Grounds in Limerick. These turnstiles have proven themselves time after time over the past year, with a zero rate of failure.
