Vikela Aluvin - new BEE company in Aluvin Group

November 2004 News & Events, Infrastructure, Products & Solutions

Aluvin Securiseal, manufacturer and distributor of security seals, has announced a BEE deal which sees the formation of Vikela Aluvin. The new company will be the sales and distribution arm of the Aluvin group.

Kevin Norwitz, Aluvin MD, says that to ensure genuine empowerment in the group, the Aluvin Employee Trust became a significant shareholder in the new company, which effectively allows for a 30% black shareholding.

"It was decided to first include employees from previously disadvantaged backgrounds in the BEE," says Norwitz, "but this does not exclude the possibility of finding suitable external partners who can add value in the future."

Norwitz says he is confident that the new structure will not only enable the company to take advantage of new contracts, but also it will be a motivating force for the entire company. "Ownership is a very powerful motivator and we all look forward to increased productivity and improved results," he concludes.
