Cardax FT feature set extended

October 2004 Access Control & Identity Management, Education (Industry)

The latest release of Cardax FT Command Centre (v4.10) supports a number of substantial new optional features including high level interfaces to integrate elevator and intercom systems. Integration has already been achieved with Kone Elevator Systems and the Jacques TCP/IP Intercom System. It enables the Cardax FT Command Centre to become the user interface for elevator and intercom systems.

"This follows our philosophy of integrating third party systems with Cardax FT. At its core, Cardax FT is an access control, intruder alarms and alarms management system, but it also extends to an integration platform with other security, building, people and business management systems," says Kahl Betham, Cardax product manager.

Another significant development is the release of the Cardholder Enrolment Wizard. Designed to ease peak cardholder enrolment periods, this new feature will be especially appealing to the wider education sector. The wizard helps the operator to locate a cardholder record, confirm card details and print and encode a magstripe card. Magstripe technology remains extensively in use in the tertiary sector. Betham indicated that plans were underway to support the integrated encoding of other card technologies in line with demand.

The release is the first software release to be made available to customers who have taken out a Software Maintenance Agreement.
