Grintek Ewation takes Control(soft)

August 2004 News & Events

Grintek Ewation (GEW) is now the owner of the entire product range of Controlsoft, from the entry-level access control to high-end building security.

Gerrie Pieterse, senior executive: security systems at GEW, says, "Together with American Auto Matrix, GEW has signed an agreement whereby GEW obtains the full intellectual property rights (IPR) on the Controlsoft range. This IPR includes the sole rights of all hardware and software previously developed by Controlsoft and all rights for future development, research, manufacturing and marketing."

It includes all previous topology and the new topology of all the latest developments that have taken place.

Pieterse urges system integrators, installers and suppliers to take note of the fact that GEW is now the sole supplier of Controlsoft equipment and that previous suppliers have no right to manufacture, distribute, develop and repair any of the Controlsoft product range, unless duly appointed by GEW.

Controlsoft provides a range of building blocks for identification and security solutions, including online/offline access control software, standalone access control systems, controller networking equipment, system controllers, door controllers, access and asset monitoring readers, the latest biometrics technology as well as cards and tags for identification and monitoring. A product range consisting of the KeyMaster packages offers cost-effective solutions for small installations, powerful security features in an economical entry-level and integrated access control and asset security in larger installations.

"GEW has a new release of the Database Synchroniser software, which is now available. The new version will sort out a lot of previous problems experienced regarding this software, and has been developed to clearly identify any synchronising issues during problem solving," Pieterse adds.

"By year-end we will officially be releasing KeyMaster Pro 3.5. This flagship software has been designed for the medium to large access control system. New features will include SQL databases instead of the MS Access databases that are in presently in use. This change strengthens KeyMaster Pro's database handling and capability whereas the MS Access database has limitations," he concludes.
