Axiz launches Kalliba Velocity USB 2.0

August 2004 Information Security

Axiz has launched Kalliba Velocity, the latest edition to Kalliba's USB removable flash offering for high speed data transfer and mobile users. Kalliba Velocity features a super fast USB 2.0 data transfer between PCs, notebooks and Macintosh platforms via a USB 2.0 port (backward compatible to USB 1.1).

Aimed at mobile users, Kalliba Velocity is lightweight, compact, durable and reliable with excellent data integrity. It features additional benefits such as larger capacity, superiority over conventional floppy disk and close to 10 times faster than a traditional USB 1.1 device, ideal for larger files and data.

"A vital feature for mobile users today is security. Kalliba Velocity features a PC Lock, which automatically protects your data when your device is plugged in. The password protection feature offers greater security, while the write protect switch shields Velocity from virus transmission," says Bruce Murphy, Kalliba product manager at Axiz.

In addition, the Kalliba Velocity Secure Disk application provides segmented public and password protected areas on Velocity, which offers greater security and peace of mind for your data in a mobile world.

True plug-and-play functionality is included, offering quick driverless installation of the device on any PC, notebook or Macintosh. Kalliba's mobile e-mail client, FlashMail - an additional application, allows you to take your work or personal e-mail with you everywhere with an easy to use interface for sending and receiving mail, storing contacts and multiple e-mail accounts.

A Zip Utility feature compresses and decompresses data on the fly allowing higher storage capacity.

"The Kalliba Velocity is shock resistant and waterproof for ruggedness in the field. All in all a powerful new product from the Kalliba range offering mobile users more technology than ever before in a compact aluminium casing. Funky and functional - that is what it is about," concludes Murphy.
