The unique all-in-one matrix solution

August 2004 Surveillance

Bewator V3i matrix combines functionality with flexibility, making it ideal for a wide range of applications: from small systems supporting just a few cameras, to large and complex systems, like those used to secure airports, retail shopping centres or town centres.

V3i was developed to address the need for an analog CCTV switching matrix with all the quality and performance of big modular systems but with all the simplicity of an off-the-shelf switcher. Using technology which was developed by Bewator for a networked CCTV system for Singapore's sophisticated MRT (mass rapid transit) system, V3i ranks among the most comprehensive matrix systems on the market and is packed with user-friendly features like easy-to-perform system programming, on-screen diagnostics, VCR and DVR control, alarm handling and many more.

Extremely scalable, each V3i unit (32 inputs and eight outputs) works as a building block and can be linked with other V3i units to form larger, distributed matrix systems. For example: using a single expansion cable, quickly connect two V3i units together to form a full 64 x 16 matrix. Each unit or groups of linked units is called a node. And by connecting five 64x16 ISU nodes together, a 256x16 full cross-point matrix can be created, with great savings on cabling costs compared with a single central matrix.

V3i can also be integrated with Bewator Granta Security Management System: as Granta monitors events on the access control system, commands via RS232 can be directly sent to the CCTV system without operator intervention, allowing effective alarm and events management.

Flexibility is key to the long lasting performance of security systems. V3i is compatible with third-party protocols, giving the freedom to choose which camera domes, recording equipment or multiplexers suit an organisation's security needs best.

Supported domes: Surcha Mini Dome, Solaris Dome, Kalatel CyberDome, Vista PowerDome, JVC TK-C675, Ultrak KD6, Dennard 2050, VCL Orbiter/Microsphere

Supported DVRs: Dedicated Micros Digital Sprite, Columbus Triplex

Supported VCRs: Panasonic AG-6730, Sony SVT-100P or Sanyo TLS-S8000P

Supported Multiplexers: Panasonic WJ-FS616, Montage, Tecton Drax.
