Bosch has designed the new FAP 500 smoke detector specifically for installation in areas of high architectural standards. The FAP 500 is flush mounted into the ceiling of the area leaving only a smooth sealed faceplate visible from below. The faceplate of the detector can be colour matched to the ceiling using the unique colour ring insert system.
The sealed cover plate construction of the FAP 500 means that there are no internal smoke sensing chambers. Instead, the FAP 500 creates dual virtual smoke detection areas utilising Bosch signal processing development from years of research and experience. The FAP 500-OC boasts a CO detection element which provides even greater false alarm resistance with more rapid smoke detection.
For flush mount installations, Bosch provides both smoke detectors models with a back box and connection base. A special surface mount box is supplied for installation on surfaces where flush mount is not possible. The cover plate comes in either off-white or clear. The clear version utilises a supplied set of coloured films to customise the colour of the cover plate to the mounting surface. The connection from the detector to the fire alarm system is through the powerful LSN bus system.
