Family business evolves into country-wide CCTV company

May 2004 Surveillance

Space Security Systems, a provider of integrated CCTV, satellite and interactive television systems and intercoms, was formed as a family business in 1975 with the advent of the first television broadcast in South Africa, and has been importing satellite television equipment since satellite services first became available in 1980 (3-4 m C Band dishes).

While the group still manufactures TV antennae, its primary focus is on the design and distribution of high-end satellite and television receiving systems and products, and increasingly in the supply of CCTV solutions.

Focused on providing affordable and seamless solutions to developers, project managers and end-users, the company has branches in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Randburg, Pretoria and Port Elizabeth, and offers a wide range of quality CCTV and satellite products, backed by extensive experience and know-how.

According to Errol Voigt, managing director of Space Security Systems, the company's CCTV product range comprises products from Video Domain Technologies (a developer and manufacturer of digital video and audio, CCTV and remote surveillance solutions: www.vdomain.com), Bosch (formerly Philips CSI) REO CCTV solutions ( www.philipsci.com) as well as Yoko Technology Corporation products (which include CCD cameras, domes, mini cameras, board cameras, PIR and covert cameras, quad processors and multiplexers, as well as CCTV lenses and monitors: www.yoko-tech.com).

Warranties

Says Voigt, "Space Security Systems offers 'no-nonsense' warranties on all its products, ranging from 12 months to three years, and also issues warranties covering installations by recommended third party installers. We believe clients are afforded the peace of mind of being able to deal directly with experienced staff in the event of there being any difficulty in an installation."

Services

Space Security Systems offers an integrated, one-stop solution for all satellite and terrestrial television requirements, as well as the design of CCTV, congress public address, intercoms and access control facilities. Concludes Voigt, "The size and the diversity of our range allows us to offer highly competitive and client sensitive pricing, while all products are the subject of full-exchange warranties of between one and three years."
