CCTV, as simple as ADT

February 2004 News & Events

ADT Security's CCTV (closed circuit television) division has experienced good growth in its first year of business. This division concentrates on the supply, installation and maintenance of solution-based CCTV systems, tailor-made to meet the needs of its private commercial and corporate clients.

According to ADT executives, the CCTV division enables ADT Security to offer clients fully integrated, comprehensive security solutions in which guarding, armed response, fire protection and CCTV can be interfaced. ADT's CCTV options range from a single camera to an entire network of indoor and outdoor camera systems, which can include embedded, PC-based or analog surveillance equipment.

Jose Sardinha, business development manager of ADT's CCTV division, explains that CCTV monitoring systems are selected from a range of suppliers to suit the application and can be pro-active (constant screening of monitors) or reactive (all information is recorded for later use where necessary).

Since inception in December 2002, ADT's CCTV division has installed several comprehensive systems in Virgin Active branches around the country including the state-of-the-art Melrose Arch gym, as well as Outsurance head office, The British Trade and Industry Commission, the Neelsie Centre at Stellenbosch University, Port Elizabeth-based Metal Man and retail convenience stores.

"We are committed to providing the ultimate solutions-based products and services to the South African market," says Sardinha. "By putting the control back into management's hands, we are able to make significant inroads in combating criminal activity."

ADT also offers full CCTV maintenance plans to diagnose problems and ensure the equipment is always in good working order.
