Securex - still SA's largest and only comprehensive trade exhibition of its kind

December 2003 News & Events, Access Control & Identity Management

Securex 2004, South Africa's leading international security, protection and safety exhibition, will take place from 3-5 March at Sandton Convention Centre. The show will once again feature top quality exhibitors with cutting edge technology, services and products showcased in a premier venue - all components visitors have become accustomed to at Securex.

Securex 2004 will once again incorporate the ESDA Village which offers the smaller companies an opportunity to stand head to head with their larger counterparts. The ESDA Village will allow smaller members to showcase their expertise to the same visitor profile as the larger exhibitors.

To add an additional educational component to the show, The Security Association of South Africa (SASA) has organised no less than 10 informative workshops during the period of the show. Topics that will be covered in the workshops include:

* Cash security - whose responsibility is it?

* A critical analysis of casual linkages between elements influencing crime in the banking sector.

* Bulletproof performance differentiation - shooting the lights out of the competition.

* Integrated security standards - unification of the insurance and electronic alarm industry.

* Integrated security solutions for hospitals - infant protection - staff attack - wandering patients - asset management and loss control.

* Corporate counterintelligence and how it can support security.

* Private investigators in South Africa - friends or foes.

* Getting the maximum performance from CCTV operators.

* Global warming - possible impact on society and implications for risk management and security practitioners.

* Capital expenditure and security - calculating a return on investment.

With just over two months to go before Securex kicks off, exhibitors include well-known industry stalwarts such as Elvey International, Unique Software, R&D Screening, Geovision, Satech Projects, Impro Technologies, Ibo-Data, Emergency Reaction & Services and Motorola amongst others.

For bookings for the workshops contact Rosemary at the SASA Administration Office, Tel: 011 454 2474/2476, Fax: 011 454 2301 or e-mail: [email protected].
