Protecting Nigeria's resources

November 2003 Surveillance, Residential Estate (Industry)

Bosch Security Systems, a major player in the surveillance market offering solutions from the simplest to the most complex video surveillance system, has won the contract to supply a large commercial bank in Nigeria with a digital CCTV surveillance system.

Etco, Bosch's partner in Nigeria, will be installing 20 Dinion cameras and colour video monitors. Dinions are innovative and highly versatile and are able to be used both indoors and outdoors in low and difficult lighting conditions whilst offering the highest picture quality. The Dinion range of monochrome and colour cameras feature an advanced digital video-processing chip to pack more functionality, intelligence and picture enhancement techniques than any other camera in its class.

The superb low-light performance of the range is further boosted in the high-resolution colour model with the unique NightSense feature, which makes use of the extra sensitivity of monochrome images. The patented Lens Wizard allows the user to focus the lens correctly even in extremely bright light, thereby ensuring a consistently sharp picture.

Another plus about the Dinion is that it is supplied ready to operate. No tools are needed to install or configure the camera. And for special applications, an intuitive on-screen menu allows the user to configure it for these requirements.

A full three-year warranty and a free advance replacement programme cover these compact, rugged 1/3-inch image format digital CCD cameras.

Also being installed at the Bank in Abuja are LTC 2813/90 colour video monitors. These 36 cm (14") monitors deliver excellent colour reproduction and picture clarity with more than 400 TV lines of resolution. An auto-sensing function identifies whether input signals are PAL or NTSC, while front panel controls allow volume, sharpness, brightness, contrast, colour and tint to be adjusted easily and quickly. These units have universal power supply so they can handle a wide range of power sources. And each monitor is housed in a compact, space-saving metal cabinet which can be rack mounted.
