An especially popular range is the Discovery PIR, an ideal universal PIR for installer and end-user alike. Stylish and durable, Discovery is designed for use in both home and office environments and is notable for its temperature compensation, superior RFI protection and three position programmable pulse counter. The Discovery boasts a high level of immunity to false alarms with a sealed optical chamber preventing insects and air currents from affecting the sensitive element.

Visonic's Q-Logic is an advanced twin-channel, true quad PIR packed into an attractive housing with a detachable bracket. Like the Discovery the Q-Logic also has a sealed optical chamber plus an internally fitted pet avoidance mask that provides an ideal solution to the problem of pets activating the alarm.

Q-Logic has TRM (true motion recognition) a patented signal processing software that helps the detector distinguish between true and false alarms by analysing the true motion of the human body based on known factors such as speed of target, signal strength of target, room temperature, superimposed noise and other factors.

For those with a real pet problem nothing does a better job than PetSmart detectors with target specific imaging. Many security professionals feel that the trend to compromise on performance for increased false alarm immunity leaves the customer much too vulnerable. In response to this problem Visonic developed the first three dimensional cylindrical optical system for security motion detectors. The system provides the detector with high-resolution images of the environment that enables the sensor to differentiate between a pet and a person without sacrificing proper protection.

Immune to pets up to 36 kg in weight the sensor enables pets to roam the area freely even climbing on furniture without generating false alarms.
