Security & Communication Warehouse introduces new camera

November 2003 Surveillance, Residential Estate (Industry), Products & Solutions

The VDI102N is an affordable digital, day/night, high resolution camera. It has an advanced colour 1/3 inch CCD sensor with a horizontal resolution of 480 TV lines and can overcome poor lighting conditions because it has a sensitivity of 0,8 lux at F/1.2. The VDI102N is available with a DC-drive lens only (C-mount or CS-mount capable).

Not only is the VDI102N affordable, but it has some outstanding features too, including low smear, backlight compensation, edge enhancement, night vision, 2x digital zoom and mirror function.

* Low smear: this enables the camera to cope with bright areas in the scene, for instance a car's headlights. A normal camera will display white vertical lines where bright spots are, but with the low smear function vertical smearing is avoided.

* Backlight compensation: this enhances the contrast in the darker areas of the image enabling them to be brought out, while still clearly seeing the lighter areas.

* Edge enhancement: this produces a 'flicker' effect on more detailed items in the image thereby enhancing the detail of the object especially around the edges.

* Night vision: the VDI102N can be used for day and night monitoring as it can be used with infrared. The colour image is automatically changed into a black and white image in the dark.

* 2x digital zoom: this enables you to zoom in on a particular part of or the whole image in order to have something enlarged for easier identification, etc.

* Mirror function: this allows you to convert the image to an exact mirror of the original. This can prevent problems with incorrect placement of the cameras as well as many other specific needs.
