Alpro Technology appoints Frank Street CCTV as Its southern Africa distributor.

Appro Technology, whose name may be new to customers, is backed by over 10 years’ experience in high-tech digital image design and is a leader in digital imaging processing. Established in 1994, Appro Technology currently sells through exclusive distributors to major markets in Europe, Asia, USA and Africa. Frank Street CCTV was appointed as exclusive dealers in southern Africa. Abie Ali and Zaheer Munshi recently attended the Taitronics Exhibition in Taipei and visited the Appro Technology factory.

“Today Appro has 14 R&D members and 56 workers in its factory,” says Frank Street CCTV’s Abie Ali. “We were very impressed with the quality of Appro products. Its cameras and quad processors have been recently used in installations at Alexander Forbes new IT section and Edgardale.

Appro Technology has now introduced nine and16-channel multiplexers in colour and B/W which it introduced at the Taitronics exhibition.

“The image quality is very good indeed,” said Ali. “Resolution remains impressively high, camera switching is very clean with no disturbance at the switching point, and replay of multiplexed recording is also very clean.”

The multiplexer features high resolution (910 x 612), full duplex operation, and auto and user adjustable VCR sync, multi-screen display format, activity detection, RS232 port, bounce free sequencing, 2x zoom, on-screen time, title and setup menu, auto VCR speed detection, alarm timer, priority recording on the standard models and motion detection on the premium models. According to Ali, all Appro products are ISO 9001 accredited.
