Community security gets a boost from new recruit

ADT Security has employed Stephen Margo to manage its Localised Security Scheme (LSS) in Sandton. Margo is one of the original founders of the Sandton Precinct, a section 21 Company that has overseen the welfare of the community for the past eight years. He is also a founder of the Community Action Company, the initiative that started Community Police Forums in Sandton 12 years ago.

ADT Security's LSS concept is a proactive service that focuses specifically on the safety needs of a community. Projects have included the installing of boom operations, the placement of roving guards to patrol predetermined areas and bicycle patrols. Most recently, the LSS has assisted some communities with renewed road closure applications.
