Kusela Security Solutions secures deepwater port

September 2003 News & Events

Kusela Security Solutions, ADT Security Guarding's black empowerment partner, has been awarded the security guarding contract for the deepwater Port of Ngqura development project. The contract has been awarded for two years.

Kusela Security Solutions has 48 specially trained security guards and three supervisors involved in securing this project. The sheer volume of people and equipment in and around the harbour development requires maximum levels of security to maintain control. Kusela's responsibilities include basic and restricted access control, patrolling and general security services for the entire harbour development.

The Port of Ngqura, South Africa's third deepwater port, is buzzing with activity as it begins to take shape. "The R3,2 billion project is on schedule for completion in 2005," says National Ports Authority (NPA) project director Kgoadi Malatse.

Says Johan van Vuuren, regional operations manager of Kusela Security Solutions in Port Elizabeth: "It is a privilege to be associated with a project of such magnitude with such extensive international coverage."

Kusela Security Solutions was launched in April this year. This South African guarding company offers professional service levels combined with a move towards the enablement of those who have been previously disadvantaged.
