Third generation recorder

August 2003 Surveillance, Information Security

Modular Communications - local distributor of the Dallmeier range of digital recorders - has announced the release of the DMS 180 III.

New features of this third generation recorder include up to 24 camera inputs per machine instead of the previous 18 inputs as well as increased internal hard drive capabilities. Another great feature of this machine is the new SEDOR technology, which has the ability to detect abnormal picture changes (defocusing, spray painting or covering the camera lens, dazzling the camera).

Modular Communications also announced that the latest version of Pview software has the capability of linking a second SVGA monitor to the monitor output of a laptop and running other scenes on that monitor as well as, simultaneously, on the main laptop monitor. Other developments include: the New Pguard Version 3.1.0, a useful tool for handling alarms as well as simplified access to activity recordings; and a new protocol to drive the JVC TK-C676 dome so that the user is able to control this dome directly from a PC Workstation with Pview.
