New additions to iCLASS range

June 2003 Access Control & Identity Management, Products

HID has introduced the newest products in the iCLASS product portfolio viz:

* The iCLASS RK40 read only contactless smartcard reader with keypad.

* The iCLASS RWK400 read/write contactless smartcard reader with keypad.

Using 13,56 MHz contactless smartcard technology, the iCLASS RK40 and RWK400 use iCLASS technology for dual verification of identity. This solution seamlessly combines contactless smartcard technology with the use of a PIN!

The 12-position keypad allows the user to combine a contactless card presentation and input of a personal identification number (PIN) to support dual authentication. The panel may also be configured to allow for single-factor authentication with just the use of either a card or a PIN.

Supporting read/write applications, the RWK400 offers the features of the RK40 with the extended ability to read/write user data to HID iCLASS credentials that offer either 2 Kbits (256 bytes) or 16 Kbits (2 Kbytes) of data storage.
