Triumvirate offer end-to-end digital solutions

June 2003 News & Events

Bringing surveillance systems into the digital age to help customers improve security and reduce costs, IBM today announced that it has begun rolling out solutions to its European customers providing consulting, integration and deployment services for digital video surveillance and access control systems running on IP-based networks.

At the recent IFSEC exhibition, IBM and Cisco Systems presented end-to-end digital video solutions with Lenel Systems International.

"Enterprises and organisations are taking a much more holistic view of security today, they understand the advantages of integrating applications for safety and security to improve overall enterprise security whilst at the same time reducing costs. Moreover, the unique advantage of being able to access digital video records in realtime is decisive in proactive threat management," said Gail Whipple, vice president of IBM global digital media services. "Integrating surveillance systems into existing digital security networks is a natural and easy transition for companies looking at optimising installed cameras into a digital solution, therefore protecting existing camera investments."

"Partnering with IBM, with its vast industry expertise, will bring to Lenel's customers and partners a much sought after solution for enterprise class deployments of leading digital security solutions," said Kevin Wine, vice president marketing, Lenel Systems International, Inc. "Together with IBM and Cisco, Lenel can now offer the industry's most cost effective, valuable solutions for networked IP video surveillance, recording, and storage," said Elena Prokupets, president and CEO, Lenel Systems International.

"Enterprises and public sector organisations worldwide are improving their physical security with digital video surveillance systems," said Paul Mercer, security operations and systems manager Cisco Europe, Middle East and Africa. "The ability to monitor, view and record video over an IP network improves safety and reduces loss of assets. Cisco and its strategic alliance partners, such as IBM, provide proven end-to-end industry solutions for enterprise-wide digital surveillance systems running over Cisco networks."
